When The Going Gets Tough, Vote Present

Posted in Election '08, Obama, Political tagged , , , , at 12:28 pm by thecoltblog

I don’t have too much time to write much, but I was curious how can anyone believe that Obama is pro-change, when he has no history of change? On any crucial subject, he has voted present instead of taking an actual stance. You tell me how that is in the best interest of the people. That’s career first all the way.

CAREER FIRST. Voting present is a technique that politicians will use to avoid being associated with a bill that might not be successful, and is a technique they will use when trying to re-run or run for a higher office. Tell me how voting present, as many times as he did, puts the people first?

The guy has never gone against his party, and his history is sketchy when it comes to working with the opposite side of the aisle. “What about Lugar-Obama? What about Lugar-Obama?” Is that one instance anyone can really bring forward? I guess when you spend less than 150 days serving the American people, you really don’t have time to work with Republicans. When I say serving the American people, I just mean sitting in office. I don’t really mean he served the American people in any significant fashion.

Did he work with bi-partisan commission on an immigration bill? Yes, but then because of his own party and sketchy friends he voted against it. YEAH, SOUNDS LIKE PRESIDENTIAL MATERIAL TO ME!!! Let’s get him in office as quickly as possible! He can be the first president in history to vote present!

Another Point about Freddie and Fannie

Posted in Election '08, Obama, Political tagged , , , , , at 12:26 pm by thecoltblog

What are Obama’s motivations to reform Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, when he has received significant contributions from both those companies and their employees?

Also, I went to barackobama.com after the hurricane. Was I the only one that noticed that they spelled victims wrong? The banner read, “Help the victems.” That and their campaign releasing the statement about “American Insurance Group.” I think someone needs to tell him it’s American International Group.

I’ll give his campaign one thing: they sure do know how to write a speech. Maybe Obama is a phonetic reader…

Obama on O’Reilly & Randi

Posted in Election '08, Obama, Political tagged , , , , , at 10:43 pm by thecoltblog

So, Thursday, Monday, today and again tomorrow, Barack Obama has been on The O’Reilly Factor.  So far, he has managed to avoid the tough questions. He never did address his association with the Daily Kos, even though he spoke at their convention. All he said was he disagreed with their story, which if you remember, they were the ones to released the story about their child with down syndrome not really being theirs. Maybe he is not that great of a judge of character…

The other thing that is on my mind is the CNN article that was just released.  I am LIVID about it and I won’t even link the story to here because I don’t feel the need to promote it further than talking about it. This “news network” is having such a hard time finding controversy, since the library and trooper-gate have proved to be inaccurate, that they are attacking her religion. Randi Kaye(the authoring) is saying what someone with deep religious beliefs will do if they get in the White House, as if these beliefs are such a bad thing. He was talking about her religious upbringings, but WHY WON’T THEY MENTION BARACK’S MUSLIM UPBRINGINGS?? Hahaha. THEN! The story goes on to write about controversy that happened at the church, LONG after she had left there. WHY DO YOU THINK THIS AUTHOR WOULD WASTE THE SPACE TO TALK ABOUT THIS EVEN THOUGH SHE WASN’T THERE ANYMORE??? I will tell you. Most people, I hope, are smarter than this writer wants you to be. He wants you to read this and keep in your head that she was affiliated with the church at one point. He doesn’t want you to remember that she left the church, even though he put it in the article because he doesn’t want to be accused of not printing the “whole story.” But we are smart enough to realize that there is no purpose in including something that is irrelevant to her, unless you want to plant bad seeds in peoples’ heads. Randi Kaye, you are a joke to the writing profession.

My Review of Governor Palin vs. Barack Obama

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , , , , , at 9:06 pm by thecoltblog

As most of you know by now, Senator McCain has chosen Governor Palin from Alaska as his Vice Presidential candidate. There is much speculation about why did he make this pick, how quickly did he make it, and how qualified is she.

First, let’s address why did he make this pick and how quickly did he make it. The answer is: It doesn’t matter!! All that we should be concerned with is how good will she be for America. Is she a good pick?

Immediately after she was chosen, the Obama camp released this statement:

“Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency,”

How is this relevant? McCain camp could put a similar ad stating this:

“Senator Barack Obama, former community organizer with zero foreign policy experience, not to mention zero executive experience is running to be President of the United States”

She may be governor of a state that only occupies less than 700,000 people, but her approval is over 80%. 700,000 can be a sample size for the whole U.S. She has such a high approval rating because she is truly a good American that has fought corruption on both sides of the aisle and we should all be excited to have her in such an office. Whether McCain made this decision because of Hilary Clinton not being nominated for Vice President, doesn’t really matter. The point is, she is a great pick and now that I have had time to review her accomplishments in such a short time, I would take her as a Vice President over any of the other candidates. We need more people like Governor Palin in Washington!

Just a couple of thoughts…
