Fred Thompson Steals the Night

WOW! Fred Thompson or Joe Lieberman can be argued on who made the more convincing speech.  From my seat, not only did Fred Thompson make a great case for the patriotic life of John McCain, he said something that just really should hit home for a lot of people who watched the Obama acceptance speech.  Since there is no text on-line yet, I can’t quote directly, but he said something to the point of you can’t replace experience with eloquence.  If you vote for Obama, he won’t tax you or your families; he will tax big businesses.  So, as long as you don’t buy groceries, gas, or anything for that matter you won’t be affected! Oh it was funny, but true.  You tax businesses, how can you expect it not to affect the American public directly?

If you get a chance to view this speech, do so.

Lieberman spoke about how he supports McCain because partisan politics can be done away with.  He is reaching across party lines because he knows that voting for the right American is more important than voting for your party.  A great speech and hopefully this effectively reached a lot of people.

My Review of Governor Palin vs. Barack Obama

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , , , , , , , , , , , at 9:06 pm by thecoltblog

As most of you know by now, Senator McCain has chosen Governor Palin from Alaska as his Vice Presidential candidate. There is much speculation about why did he make this pick, how quickly did he make it, and how qualified is she.

First, let’s address why did he make this pick and how quickly did he make it. The answer is: It doesn’t matter!! All that we should be concerned with is how good will she be for America. Is she a good pick?

Immediately after she was chosen, the Obama camp released this statement:

“Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency,”

How is this relevant? McCain camp could put a similar ad stating this:

“Senator Barack Obama, former community organizer with zero foreign policy experience, not to mention zero executive experience is running to be President of the United States”

She may be governor of a state that only occupies less than 700,000 people, but her approval is over 80%. 700,000 can be a sample size for the whole U.S. She has such a high approval rating because she is truly a good American that has fought corruption on both sides of the aisle and we should all be excited to have her in such an office. Whether McCain made this decision because of Hilary Clinton not being nominated for Vice President, doesn’t really matter. The point is, she is a great pick and now that I have had time to review her accomplishments in such a short time, I would take her as a Vice President over any of the other candidates. We need more people like Governor Palin in Washington!

Just a couple of thoughts…
